Shockwave Flash
There's no doubt that Macromedia has made a big impact on the nature of the
media on the Web. This month Macromedia announced the release of Flash 3 player,
development tools and its submission of the *.swf file format to the w3 standards
committee.
Macromedia is also looking to licence the source code for the Flash player enabling vendors to incorporate it
into Web browsers, tools and even operating systems.
